"Christopher has a gift. I see a lot of photos, but this is very rare. He has the ability to capture the essence of a person."

- Joseph De Mario, Curator - Jazz Bakery, Los Angeles

Christopher's passion for photography started he was 13 yrs old. A school friend, whose dad was a professional photographer, introduced him to the magic of developing your own film and prints. And it is that magic of turning your view of life into a piece of art that keeps him motivated.

He is always trying to find that authentic expression, waiting to capture that moment when his subject opens up and he can feel that direct connection to the person. Getting a glimpse of the essence of a person and immortalizing that moment. That is the biggest reward he is after.

He studied photography at the Art School (HfG) in Frankfurt, Germany - Class of Lewis Baltz.

When living in Venice, CA from 2005 - 2011, he had to opportunity to assist in the making of "Visual Acoustics", a documentary film on the modernism of legendary architectural photographer Julius Shulman, directed by Eric Bricker. Working directly with Julius at his house in the Hollywood Hills, Christopher had the pleasure to experience the joyful, kind and grateful nature of Julius and his daughter. More info on the film can be found here: http://www.juliusshulmanfilm.com

Christopher has been doing freelance photography for 15+ yrs for various magazines. He had various group and solo shows, a group show at the US Center for Cultural Affairs in Berlin, Germany. In the context of the US elections the US embassy in Berlin organized a large scale art show with various speeches and events accompanying the race for the US Presidency. His contribution was a portrait series about Venice locals, portraying the multi-cultural aspect of the LA urban culture.

His passion for Japan shows in a recent series of candid photography in the land of the rising sun.

He currently resides in Potsdam.
